Through Simond’s lens, the relationship between a photographer and her sitter is magnified tenfold. She is principally concerned with human connection, identifying its nuances in the expression on a face or the gesture of the body, and placing it front and centre in her powerfully intimate compositions. Through close crops of her subjects, Senta identifies the crux of their shared contact, documenting it for her viewer to play a part in, too.
