Ventura is celebrated for his uniquely staged photographic tableaux that blur the boundaries between memory, fiction, and history. With a background in set design and storytelling, Ventura constructs miniature theatrical worlds, often melancholic, surreal, and emotionally resonant. Each of his pictures holds its own little mystery, a concoction of atmosphere, character and detail that urges for closer examination.
