A world-renowned advertising and fashion photographer, currently ranked among the top 20 by Lürzer's International Archive. Known for his cinematic and surreal aesthetic, Stallaert’s work often explores the human body placed within landscapes or interiors, creating visual tension that challenges the viewer’s perception.

Context

Cleaning Lady is a notable work within Kurt Stallaert's exploration of societal roles and visual irony. Kurt began his 'Bodybuilders’ World series in Brussels and Prague before travelling to Africa in 2010 to continue the project with Black bodybuilders. The series quickly gained attention from galleries, collectors, and museums in Belgium and abroad.

The series was featured in The Weight Body at Museum Dr. Guislain and the Ghent Art Fair and SCOPE Miami Beach in 2014.
