Notes: Artist & Practice

Boske creates layered photographic works that explore nature as a metaphor for constant change and fluidity. She has received several grants from the Mondriaan Fund and the Amsterdam Fund for the Arts. Her work has been shown at institutions like Foam Amsterdam, Fotomuseum Winterthur, and the Museum of Modern Art Tokushima, and is held in the Nederlands Fotomuseum and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs collections.

Significance & Context

In her series Akui Gawa, she captures multiple moments in time to reflect the river's shifting states - from calm to chaotic - using vertical compositions and overlapping visual fragments. Through composed images of different visual time fragments, Boske is searching for an autonomous image that represents a state of constant change.

In 2010 her work was selected for the Talent issue of Foam Magazine.
