Aue Sobol is a Magnum Photos member since 2012, celebrated for his emotive black-and-white photography exploring intimacy, identity, and the human condition. His work has been exhibited at institutions including Fotomuseum Antwerp, SAK Museum in Denmark, Rencontres d'Arles in France, and SFMOMA in San Francisco. A recipient of the 2008 Leica European Publishers Award.

Context

Arrivals and Departures America is a journey through all of the 50 United States. However, the series is primarily an encounter between the people there and Sobol himself. The series captures the raw and poignant moments, reflecting his style of close, personal engagement with his subjects.
