De Bruijn's work blends intimacy with aesthetic clarity, exploring themes such as sensuality, altered states, and urban alienation. Her images float between 'letting go,' 'getting high,' and 'sexual realism.' She has exhibited at Flatland Gallery, Pakhuis de Zwijger, the Van Gogh Museum, Unseen Photo Fair and Fotofestival Naarden.

Context

'Weekend Warriors' is a raw, documentary-style series capturing the hedonistic festival and afterparty culture of Amsterdam, Berlin, and London from 2008 to 2014. Originally a private photo diary, it evolved into an exploration of intimacy and youth subcultures.

Notes

The series was later published as a photobook by Kehrer Verlag in 2017.
