Frans Molenaar, Holland's most famous fashion designer, was a passionate collector of art and design. Guided by his eccentric taste, he could hardly resist purchasing the artworks he liked. A celebrity in the world of art and fashion, Frans had close relationships with many artists, and thus acquired a lot of the artworks directly from them.
The auction of more than 500 pieces from the estate of Frans Molenaar comprises paintings, drawings, prints & multiples, sculptures, books, design furniture, lamps & lights, art glass and fashion photographs. Every object has a personal story behind - be it a drawing with a dedication from the artist or a chair designed by the couturier himself.
